Renix cooling notes: open cooling system conversion basics

Some Renix-era rigs benefit from later-style cooling system approaches.

When to use this guide: 1987 to 1990 XJ with persistent cooling issues after normal fixes.

Overview

The '87 to '90 Renix XJ uses a pressurized overflow system that can be awkward to burp and maintain. Some owners convert it to the simpler open-style setup used on later XJs, easier to service and simpler to bleed after cooling work. If you've done all the normal fixes and still have cooling problems, it's worth looking into.
