Improves sensor ground quality so readings are more stable.
When to use this guide: 1987 to 1990 XJ with random drivability issues and known ground problems.
On a Renix XJ, all the sensors share a ground path that builds resistance over the years. When that resistance goes up, sensor readings go off and the ECU makes bad decisions about fuel delivery and timing. Adding a dedicated ground wire is a simple fix, just a short piece of wire and a bolt, and it often clears up drivability issues that seemed impossible to trace.
